i worked all afternoon on a present for you,
kept getting frustrated that the vinyl hearts were
crumpling up as i sewed. i'd long since abandoned
any hope of topstitching around the edges and had
resigned myself to tacking each down with an X
in the middle when i sat back and sighed because
that wasn't really working either
and irony is almost never lost on me.
