it's your birthday. you are at work, designing structures that will not hurt the environment. you are configuring water systems. you walked down the hill. on the phone last night you invited me to a square dance. there is a lot of implication in every conversation. we speak almost entirely between the lines when the lines are simple questions. we communicate in long silences and punctuation, the way i like it. we are both concise and happy; i can hear you smiling on the phone. i say your name more than anyone else's: first and last like every third statement begins an address. you and i have the perfect relationship; always on the verge of changing, but static, forever.
