when you talk about babies, the urgency goes away. the eventuality is okay, even preferable. the word our in context. when i looked at my list i laughed a little; i still like the name edith but i'd never call a person that. the weight of naming a child after it is born keeps occuring to me, of naming someone not for his existence alone. whether i could ever do that is debatable, but i think i'd like to try someday. that doesn't mean i can't still keep a list.
