i am having a surprisingly hard time with kurt vonnegut's death.
almost as surprisingly hard a time as i had with shel silverstein's.
there is on occasion this feeling i get that the universe is being depleted of everything good.
common decency, consideration, and things created with those in mind.
this is why i don't like certain authors who write about ugliness, who purport to expose and comment on it, but really only succeed in stirring up ill will.
there's enough of that, and i don't think anyone feels alone in his misanthropy.
and if he does, maybe he should.
