though they render our kitchen almost completely useless,
ink-spattered, cluttered, saw-dusty, i love
the table saw, the dremel tool, the precarious stacks
of screenprinting ink, piles of wooden squares,
strings of tiny christmas lights, blocks of fimo clay and
squeegees, empty pine frames and rows of screens, the accumulation
of paper and paint and miniature furniture, scraps with
lists and sketches in thick marker, yogurt containers for
mixing our own colors, spools and spools of gutterman thread,
and when i turn off the lights at night
i like to wonder what the albers' kitchen looked like.
